Please Note

EARLY CLOSING ANNOUNCEMENT:

Riverbanks Zoo and Garden will close at 4pm on Friday, September 26 in preparation for Riverbanks ZOOfari. The park will resume normal operating hours on Saturday, September 27.

Upcoming Events & Programs

Saturday, September 20

Join us for a wild day at the Zoo and earn credits towards badge requirements, achievements and electives. Programs are designed specifically to assist Daisy, Brownie, Junior Scouts and Cub Scouts with achievements and badge requirements. Scout Saturday Programs will start with a brief interactive educational program including live animal encounters, games and activities. Scout Saturdays are designed to work in conjunction with special events at the Zoo and feature activities for scouts that are related to the topic of the day and will add to your guest experience. Please take advantage of these special activities and visit the themed stations located throughout the park prior to the program start time. Information stations, games and activities will be offered at no additional charge and are open to the public between 9:00am–3:00pm. Zoo admission is not included. Program will be held in the Discovery Center.

Cost: $10 per Scout (with one adult) plus admission for general public.

Tuesday, September 23

Discovery Day: Groovy Gorillas

Gorillas are some of the grooviest animals in the world! Join us to discover what they eat, how they communicate and other fun facts.
Cost: $6 for one child (with one adult) per class. Plus admission for general public.

Wednesday, September 24

Check out the incredible world beneath our feet as we peek into ant tunnels and see how they live. We will learn about their complicated houses, what makes them insects, and cool facts about these tiny creatures while we make crafts and read stories.
Cost: $6 for one child (with one adult) per class. Plus admission for general public.

Friday, September 26

African fare meets southern flair at Riverbanks ZOOfari! The Zoo’s premier fundraiser, brought to you by Land Rover Columbia and hosted by Riverbanks Society, invites guests to take a sunset safari through the Zoo while sampling a variety of African-inspired cuisine seasoned with a taste of the South. Creative concoctions will complement the featured fare. A live and silent auction also will take place. Proceeds support ongoing conservation and education efforts at Riverbanks.
Cost: $50 Riverbanks members / $60 general public. $70 day of event.
