[Columbia, SC] - SCE&G's wildly popular ZooView webcam will move this Thursday, August 3 to the Amur tiger exhibit. Tiger enthusiasts are sure to enjoy watching Riverbanks' mother tiger and her 3 one-year-old cubs as they interact and play with one another.
"The SCE&G ZooView webcam has developed a vast following. It's an exceptional educational tool because viewers are not only entertained, but they develop a better understanding of our animal collection, furthering Riverbanks' mission to educate the public," said Satch Krantz, executive director of Riverbanks Zoo and Garden.
The ZooView webcam has focused on the penguin exhibit inside the Bird House's Penguin Coast since May. Due to popularity SCE&G and Riverbanks extended the original length of viewing for an extra month. In addition, SCE&G added an additional camera to highlight the rare white alligator when it debuted on exhibit at Riverbanks in July.
The tigers are sure to draw a huge crowd. Tiger lovers should especially tune into the ZooView in the early mornings and afternoons when the tigers are most active. Throughout the day, the tigers love to splash and play in the water to cool off. "This is a great chance for the public to view our tiger cubs at such an exciting and exploratory age in their life," said Krantz. The SCE&G ZooView will feature the tigers through September 6.
