Southern Style Brunches Served at the Zoo This Easter Season

[Columbia, SC] - Families with young kids will have a hopping good time at Riverbanks’ Breakfast with the Bunny on March 31. Besides getting the chance to meet and greet the Easter Bunny, a gourmet Southern breakfast buffet will be served at the scenic Ndoki Lodge overlooking the elephants and meerkats.

“Breakfast with the Bunny is fun for parents and kids,” said Dargan Davis, public relations manager at Riverbanks Zoo and Garden. “Families can make a whole day out of the brunch and stroll through the Zoo after meeting the Easter Bunny and indulging in the bountiful buffet.”

Kids of all ages will enjoy the buffet complete with items such as delicious French toast sticks, fresh pancakes, bacon, scrambled eggs, tater tots, seasonal fruit and an array of beverages. This is a breakfast that is sure to put a smile on everybunny’s face. Seating for the breakfast begins at 8am. Parents are encouraged to bring a camera for photographs.

Space is filling up fast and reservations are required by March 28. Breakfast prices are $17 for adults and $7 for children ages 3-12. Children under age 3 are free. Zoo admission is not included in the ticket price. Call (803) 779-8717 x1601 or visit www.riverbanks.org to make reservations.

Those who are unable to attend Breakfast with the Bunny can still enjoy Easter festivities at the Zoo. An elegant Easter Sunday Brunch is being served on Sunday, April 8. Riverbanks’ executive chef will treat your group to a full menu ranging from traditional Southern breakfast favorites and custom-ordered omelets to juicy prime rib, chicken picatta and herb crusted salmon. Brunch prices are $24.95 for adults and $13.95 for children 11 and under. Children under the age of 3 are free. Seating is available at 11:30am or 1:00pm. The reservation deadline is April 4.
