Coconut Lorikeet Trichoglossus haematodus

Lorikeets are adapted with a brush-tipped tongue which enables them to consume pollen and nectar.

A lorikeet’s diet consists mostly of nectar and pollen, but they also will feed on portions of flowers, seeds, fruits, berries, insects and their larvae.
Anywhere where trees are plentiful: gardens, parks, woodlands, mangrove stands, swamps, savannas, and rainforests in Australia.

Create Connections. Inspire Action. Impact Conservation.

You can feed our lorikeets nectar with an Explore More pass.

See the lorikeets in the Lorikeet Flight Aviary in Carousel Plaza at Riverbanks.
